Rules
Mesa Crest Repeater Club – Terms of Use and Legal Acceptance Notice
Effective Immediately – Read Carefully Before Requesting Access
1. Membership and Access
Access to the Mesa Crest Repeater Club (hereafter “MCRC”) repeater systems is strictly limited to registered Club Members. To obtain access, individuals must:
•    Submit a formal Repeater Access Request and a Club Request.
•    Receive confirmation and access tones from the Club Administrator.
Access tones and system credentials are confidential and must not be shared under any circumstances.
2. Coverage Area
MCRC repeaters provide coverage across:
•    High Desert
•    Victor Valley
•    Lucerne Valley
•    San Bernardino County
•    Riverside County
•    Los Angeles County
•    San Fernando Valley
•    Orange County
•    Portions of San Diego County
3. Family-Oriented Use
MCRC is a family-oriented organization. All communications must reflect respectful, appropriate conduct. If multiple family members use the same call sign, each must be identified with a unique unit designation (e.g., “Call Sign Unit 2”).
4. Monitoring and Enforcement
All repeater activity is subject to real-time monitoring and recording. MCRC utilizes RF tracking equipment (KrakenSDR) in mobile units to identify and document interference or misuse. Violations will be reported to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and may result in legal action.
Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
•    Frequency jamming
•    Broadcasting music, movie clips, or other unauthorized media
•    Use of novelty microphones or noise-generating devices
5. Legal Liability and Enforcement
By requesting access to MCRC systems, you acknowledge and accept the following legal terms:
•    Unauthorized Use: Any use of MCRC repeaters without express permission is strictly prohibited.
•    Confidentiality Breach: Sharing access tones or credentials may result in fines and legal action.
•    Violation Penalties: The Club Administrator reserves the right to impose fines up to $500 for violations of Club rules or FCC regulations. Severe violations may be referred to the FCC.
•    Civil Litigation: Disruption of repeater operations—including jamming, unauthorized broadcasting, or interference—may result in a civil lawsuit in Superior Court. Damages sought will be no less than $50,000 USD. This is a sum you agree to if you are found to be causing any of the items listed above.Â
•    Ongoing Liability: These terms remain in effect even if you leave the Club, as possession of confidential access tones constitutes continued responsibility.
All legal costs incurred by MCRC in enforcing these terms—including attorney fees, court costs, and administrative expenses—shall be the sole responsibility of the violating party.
6. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a Repeater Access Request or using any MCRC repeater system, you affirm that:
•    You have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.
•    You agree to abide by all Club rules and FCC regulations.
•    You accept full legal responsibility for any violations committed by you or your family members using your call sign.
