  1. Past hour
  2. ITs been like this for a week now. I have multiple changes to process. Guessing the squirrels took a nap.
  3. ULS has been timing out, locking up, and the picks that do make it seem to take 1m or so to come up. Been like this for days. I thought mabey it was just my machine or my browser, nope, I tried from my phone not on wifi, same thing, tried from a work computer, same thing. Tried multiple browsers. I'm just trying to check on my new HAM license that's supposed to show up there any day. I have zero confidence it actually will. CORES was super slow as well but at least worked. It took my monies anyway. Anyone actually get a GMRS recently in there? Most of the time ULS ends in this after a minute or so:
  4. Again, if you don't like the conversation you are listening to ---- this is not the spark gap world.......TURN THE DIAL to another channel (or frequency) Wait until you get those 'ailments' -- Oh, don't wait.....they'll be coming to you weather you like it or not. Should I laugh or complain about you? Know what bothers me? I am also an amateur radio operator, but I really hate GMRS becoming "ham" radio lite......quit using it like it is. Go back to CB
  5. Today
  6. With that said... we're done with this thread on my end.
  7. Nah...I get it. I was just sharing that I use this site as a tool to learn...and have fun when appropriate. Perhaps when I gain more knowledge I too can chirp
  8. You’re not wrong in saying so and this thread is barely if at all clearing the trees from the Mygmrs rules number 7 found here. Also no offense intended.
  9. Ok thank you very much, I'll try that (CCard) then. And thank you as well Sshannon. 73's,,,,,,,,,,oops!
  10. For the time being we only support Stripe as a payment processor for credit and debit cards. PayPal is supported for making club payments and receiving payouts if you're a paid club owner, but that's because it's a separate system. Since all payment details are handled by Stripe directly, we don't store your card information in our system. Stripe is the leading payment processor and powers many credit card payment platforms including Shopify stores, like our online shop. This is the most secure method to handle payments in a PCI-compliant way.
  11. Especially if he offloads in a Jeep. Just Empty Every Pocket
  12. Shame on you Randy, you got Marc hooked on 4 wheeling. His kids will starve now.
  13. I have that antenna. There is nothing high-capacity about it. IDK why he is worried about hydration, DE is so flat the water won't roll off of it.
  14. Some radios, like the Wouxun KG-805G, have parasitic drain on the batteries when the radio is turned off. This will drain a connected battery more quickly, and if the battery/radio offer no protection circuit that's very bad for the battery.
  15. The responses make me feel a lot better about the situation. Thanks so much. I have been looking at the MyAntennas 80-10, and the palomar 80-10 ocf dipole. How does the MyAntennas work for you on the phone portion of 80? The closest tree of signifigance is in the neighbors yard and all of their trees have significant sway during storms. I live in the Dakotas where wind is a very real issue the whole year. On the far end Im hoping to slope it down to maybe 20 feet using fence top rail secured to my shed if I go with the palomar, or sink a pipe down in some concrete way in the back yard and then secure it to that for the EFHW.
  16. yes, agree that the whip needs to be away from other metal, and large plastic etc, objects. When I asked the question I was thinking more of the antenna mount itself. In such case the roll bars for example would serve as the ground plane. I installed an NMO mount on the roll bar of a Polaris General. I custom made a L shaped bracket with mounting holes that aligned up with 2 of the 4 large bolts that connect the center roll bar to the "B" pillar. In the case of Polaris they bolt the roll bar sections together so this was easy to pull out 2 bolts, and install the L bracket under the bolt heads. I found 2 nice star lock washers to go between the L bracket and the roll bar. I hope that the star washer sharp points penetrate the paint on the roll bar and give a good RF connection between the two. The good news is that the roll bars then give a decent ground in the forward, side-ward and rear directions. But the other side direction has no ground therefore I'm sure the radiation pattern is somewhat distorted. But being that it's at the B pillar location hopefully the vertical B pillar offers some symmetry...or so I hope
  17. It makes financial sense. Why print two different boxes when you can simply add a sticker.
  18. Yesterday
  19. That also limits the folks who use your repeater to very few radios I would imagine.
  20. True, but it seems like most people who are rude and hell bent on trolling your coms, isn't going to know about that method. At least it's worked so far.
  21. No, I picked 88.8 on my TK805 and my 353, because they are Non standard tones I can set in both of those radios, that the china mart radios can"t find the tones for, as a way to weed out interference. With Encode and decode selected, it's pretty much private comms.
  22. That’s sort of useless too. The only tone that matters is the one for transmit. Myself I never use a tone on receive. All my commercial radios can be programmed that way. So, in that case I couldn’t care less what tone was used on the output.
  23. I have a MyAntennas EFHW for 10 through 80. I have mine between two trees, but the feed side is only 25' up, and the far side is up about 40. It's no where near as tall as recommended, but it's logged nearly 5000 contacts. You don't have to have the far tree right at 160', it could be 200+, just use paracord to finish the bridging.
  24. They only put out 5 watts on TX. I run the VHF version for some of my SAR sites and they all run thru a TPL 100 watt amplifier. Thats how they would ship when purchased new. They are a solid little unit so If your looking for a commercially made unit that will last this is one to use.
  25. The Rohn masts seem fine. I have a friend who uses one for the center of his dipole. My fiberglass pole isn’t guyed. As long as it’s in the center of the EFHW it hasn’t seemed like it needs guys.
