I am surprised you got such compliance, I usually just get a tirade of insults and swear words non stop until I, in their own words, "stop interfering" with their "line". The CW ID people would've just kept flipping tones or ignoring it. Surprised anyone still even buys bubble packs, so "outdated" for these people lol
Uh guys what is diaper patrol? But I too only hear kids goofing off on FRS, husbands who force their wives to use the bubblepack/baofeng radio with them for fun with no reason and 1 morbidly obese ham with a 40 watt TYT mobile who messes with the kids.
No issues to repeaters. Pretty annoying when talking simplex between portables though, can still interfere a bit and cut own on the range like when I'm talking to someone a couple miles off.
Bubble packers out here drive me crazy, I always here someone on 15 or 16 shopping for groceries at least until the repeater starts keying over them when someone uses it.
I'm right around the same area as you right now, good repeater up there. There's a travel tone repeater here in kingman but it doesn't receive so well and also I'm pretty sure the owners license expired according to the listing so not sure what the rules on that are but I'm guessing I shouldn't use it.
Yeah I got in on the verdugo peak repeater in seal beach with on of those before. Than i started seeing a bunch of baofeng and wouxun mobiles on amazon.
meh just do it, not like the FCC ever cares or wants to do anything. At least the community will get better repeater service range.Theres even one on a mountian in my area doing 300 watts. It's all fine.
No one really cares. They probably won't even do anything and the FCC doesn't even care anymore, hence the license drop proposal and the fall of many great REACT groups and their repeaters in my area forcing me to get a HAM license now
