  1. So thats the catch, just can't make or receive phone calls and can't connect to dsl/standard telephone lines. This is quite interesting.
  2. Hi all! I'm curious if anyone has looked into or even set up something like the ICOM VE-PG2 (or 3 or 4) in bridge mode to connect GMRS radios over IP? I've seen a little discussion about RoIP, but it seems to always go back to whether or not it is legal for GMRS, yet I see multiple GMRS organizations using some type of RoIP setup using something like Asterisk APP_RPT and associated equipment. Is something like the ICOM VE-PG* series RoIP Gateway a viable system to use in bridge mode for GMRS? It would seem like this is a good alternative to the other solutions. Thanks, WRJL231
  3. Great radio! I am using it in my UTV. I personally wouldn't use Chirp, especially for the initial setup. The Kenwood software is much easier to use and allows you to set up multiple zones and gives you much more freedom in what you can program. I have 3 or 4 zones set up, all for GMRS though, to make it easy to change channels to various bubble-pack radio brands, such as the Midlands and Cobras preprogrammed channels. Chirp is great for easily moving channels up and down.
