  1. Please, educate me on these DMR walkie-talkies. Do you need HAM, GMRS (already have), or any kind of license to operate these DMR HTs?
  2. That's what 1% is doing. https://nypost.com/2022/09/24/how-the-worlds-billionaires-are-paying-to-escape-global-disaster/
  3. As far as I understand you cannot operate on CH19 and CH21 North of Line A. So, for me travel channel would be CH20. https://www.fcc.gov/reports-research/maps/frequency-coordination-canada/
  4. Speaking of Faraday box, what do you guys think of this?
  5. Here is video from some guy who installed CTC-50M in his house.
  6. Don't use CHIRP for KG-805G. You need Wouxun OEM software for 805G. Do you have it? I will send you PM when I upload KG-805G code plug file to my cloud storage. PS PM sent.
  7. Well, I have conspiracy theory. Director of 2003 Italian Job movie is F. Gary Gray. He also directed a bunch of music videos. It is possible that he had some musicians for jam/recording session and they recorded that funky riff and he decided to stick 43 seconds of that riff into the movie.
  8. On commercial Blu-Ray disk it is exactly the start of chapter 5 at 0:16:48 mark and ends at 0:17:31. So, it is only plays for 43 seconds.
  9. No, not me. I just want audio clip to listen at home and in my car.
  10. Yes. It is where the movie scene transitions from Venice to the Alps after they finished heist. And it is only 40 seconds of that tune.
  11. It is not John Powell. It is short excerpt from some song from some funky band.
  12. Most instrumental tunes are written by John Power, and there is a bunch of other artist, but this one is not listed on this site: https://www.tunefind.com/movie/the-italian-job-2003
  13. I am trying very hard to find the band name and song title of this tune, but I have no luck. Did anybody hear it before? It is from 2003 movie Italian Job. Ignore the title of this short video, I just named it Mountains because it shows mountains. It is very cool funky tune.
  14. It is for Prime members only. If I am not logged in, it shows $109. If I log with my ID (I don't have Prime) it shows $109. When I log in with my son's ID (he has Student Prime) I shows $87.99.

    Michigan GMRS

This summer I was sitting in my car on DTW South Cell Phone Lot on Eurika road waiting for airplane to arrive. At that time I had Wouxun 905g mounted in my car as mobile radio and 15" antenna on top of my trunk. I could hear conversation from Troy575 repeater loud and clear. And it is 28 miles distance.
  16. Well, apparently we have special organization plate options here in Michigan issued by state:
  17. Intend is to transmit only on GMRS. But I want also to listen to few HAM repeaters (with frequencies of 442.xxxx and 444.xxxx), and my local weather station (WX1 - 162.55000). I have two dual band HTs - BTECH GMRS-V1 and Wouxun KG-UV9G, that are certified for GMRS and I can do all this with those.
  18. Rusty, Do you have link to that video or list of items fixed in 2.30 firmware? I searched Randy's (NotARubicon) YT channel and couldn't find AT-779UV review, just Radioddity DB20-G review.
  19. Will do if I decide to do it. Now, question for you Michael. What is the difference between UHF(400 - 490 MHz) VHF(136 - 174 MHz) and UHF(400 - 470 MHz) VHF(136 - 174 MHz) when choosing model? And which one should I choose to be law abiding citizen?
  20. I have V2.28. I downloaded AT779_UV_500_v2_29_3_VOX 2021_4_14.ZIP file with 2.29 firmware from some website, but I need to watch video that came with it before I decide to upgrade.
  21. I will second MichaelLAX to rather save $65 and get Anytone 779-UV (aka Retevis RA-25 or Radioddity DB-20G) which are programable via software and are not locked to narrow band like Midland 275. I received AnyTone AT-779UV yesterday that I bought on Amazon for $101. I programmed it via OEM software and installed today in my car. And I FELL IN LOVE with this radio. I can listen to HAM repeaters, I can listen to weather channel. It's just very cute little radio.
  22. Received it today. It is very cute little radio. Oh, and it is 20W compare to HT's 5W. Programing AnyTone software is not bad at all.
  23. You need to watch more Randy's videos and understand that Randy has great sense of humor and sarcasm. And that's what is the title of this thread - sarcasm. At least IMHO. Cheers.
