  1. I've dealt with Joel for many years. Started back with the Gathersburg hamfest. Now that's been a Looong time ago.
  2. I have 2 GMRS mobiles. A BTech 50x1 (50 watt) https://www.miklor.com/COM/Review_GMRS-50X1.php and a AnyTone AT-779 (20 watt) https://www.miklor.com/COM/Review_AT779.php The 50X1 is much better.
  3. . I've had good luck with mine. https://www.miklor.com/COM/Review_DMR-Amps.php

  6. . Here's a distance guide that may assist. The 6X2 antenna I believe is cut for the ham bands (445MHz) not GMRS (465MHz). Possible antenna mismatch https://www.Miklor.com/COM/UV_HowFarGMRS.php Terrain may also be an issue.
  7. . Just a note regarding CHIRP. The UV5X and UV5X_GMRS are two totally different radios. While the UV5X is CHIRP compatible, the UV5X_GMRS is not. Having upgradable firmware may delay CHIRP support as every time they come out with a firmware update, they would need to backward engineer it. Here are pictures of the 2 different models. https://www.miklor.com/COM/Review_UV5X.php
  8. I have a quick question. The back of the radio shows 2AN62-GM30 as the Part 90 ID, the specs show 2AJGM-GM30. Neither seems to be in the FCC database. I'm sure it's a valid ID, but has anyone else found this? https://fccid.io/2AJGM https://fccid.io/2AN62
