  1. Hi: I too have sent emails and snail mail to the HP repeater owner with no reply. I can only assume he is no longer interested in maintaining the repeaters. Certainly doesn't appear to interested in more users. I have monitored the frequencies and have heard some traffic. So, I do believe at least a couple of the repeaters are functional. I checked his FCC information and it is the same as listed on the repeater directory. Oh well. At this point there is no GMRS repeater access for the Coachella Valley, at least, none that one can gain access to. Danny
  2. Anyone know of active repeaters in the Palm Springs, CA area? I have searched the database and found the various repeaters listed. I have tried to contact the registered owners via the information in the database and FCC license files with no success. I have listened to the frequencies and there is little to no traffic. Is GMRS dead or just dying? Thanks Danny
  3. I have attempted to contact the owners of a couple repeaters listed in the directory for my area with no response. The repeaters are: HP Snow and VERDUGO. I used the listed contact emails and phone numbers. Any assistance that could be provided to get in contact with these folks would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Danny WQUS669
  4. Thanks guys for the welcome. I look forward to learning more about how GMRS is used. Now, if I could just get the owners of the repeaters in my area to respond to my requests for the access codes........
  5. Hello and Happy Holidays to everyone: I just opened an account here. I look forward corresponding with everyone and hope to catch you on the radio someday. I live in Palm Desert, CA, and am retired (as of February 2014). I have been involved in RF communications for many years as a ham. Enjoy portable HF and making antennas out of odd stuff.
