  1. I've been tinkering with these as well over the last month. Just driving around with the antenna inside the car I got 1.9 miles through dense suburban terrain. I've had a full conversation with someone about 1.5 miles away with the antenna inside the house near a window. It doesn't appear to be busy here in NJ, but I do see a couple nodes pop up here and there. Thinking about attaching a node to a drone and getting it 400 ft up for about half an hour and see what I get. I also set up an MQTT server for linking my mesh with my father who is about 25 miles north of me, and that works well also. You can't really use the public MQTT server because it will completely flood your mesh and probably lock up your devices from all the traffic, so be careful with that. If anyone is interested I can create a channel on the server to tinker around with.
  2. I'm listening on Chrome on Windows right now to 169 Midwest Hub, and it's working fine.
  3. I refreshed your account status, and it now shows you as a Premium Member. Thanks for your support!
  4. When gaps occur in the FCC database files, you won't show up until the following Sunday's full database update. The FCC publishes a weekly full database file, and then during the week they publish the new and updated licenses incrementally (known as deltas). If their system doesn't generate a daily file and your callsign would have been in that day's file, you won't appear in the next daily file -- you'd show up in the next weekly full database file. It's a pretty antiquated system, but it works most of the time. The biggest issue is waiting until the next day for us to learn about new licenses. The FCC created an API that allows live lookups, but it's painfully slow and practically unusable. It's easier to download the database updates and host the data in-house.
  5. This feature already exists on the Reports page for Premium Members. The reason for making this a premium feature is that 95% of this website is free to everyone, but our operating costs are a major factor in being able to continue to provide for the community. The information is freely available but if you'd like the extra convenience of integration with other services then we charge a small fee which gives you additional perks like no ads, Classifieds access, and the ability to list a GMRS club.
  6. Removed the duplicate listings.
  7. I deleted that account; looks like someone tried to use your callsign to register. You should be able to register for an account now.
  8. Usually, the licenses appear 24 hours after the Grant Date on the license. However, since the FCC ULS website had been down for the last 2 weeks, I expect many people's licenses won't start to appear until Sunday or Monday when they publish the entire database each week. The daily updates they publish only show the new and updated licenses for the last day, and with such a large gap in coverage, we may not get them all in one update.
  9. Thanks, we'll add that to the list of future improvements.
  10. That's the old version which is off topic here. No further updates will be made to that version.
  11. Please attach a screenshot of the issue so we can look into it on small devices.
  12. If you're posting here, you already have an account and you should log in instead.
  13. Big news in the myGMRS world: we have beta versions of a brand-new iOS and Android app ready for users to test! Android Users On your Android device, go to the Google Play Store and search for myGMRS or click here. Install the current app version (1.3.0), which is the older version. Once you've installed the app, you will see a Join the Beta section on the Google Play Store listing for myGMRS. Join the beta test by tapping Join and wait a few minutes. You will then see a new app update available that will install the 2.0.0 Beta version to your device. iOS Users Use the following link to join the public TestFlight beta for myGMRS: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ZrWc4Dkm We're eager for feedback on these apps, as we've been working diligently on creating a unified modern app experience that will allow us to add features more easily in the future. You can share your feedback in this thread.
  14. Awesome, Brian! I was going to do the same thing but didn't want to worry about keeping in sync with the upstream changes. If we have an automated process we can keep the fork up to date. Great work! Looking forward to an update!
  15. Hi Keith, Please double check your callsign format, it should be 4 letters and 3 digits. Many people are confusing the I with a one currently.
  16. That's correct, the RT97S is also a metal case. It looks like the Midland MXR10 is just a custom-molded case with their logo on it, but it's otherwise the same thing more or less.
  17. The GMRS-50X1 is being discontinued by BTECH in favor of the GMRS-50V2 which succeeds it. The new "V2" lineup of BTECH radios has additional features like the multiple repeater channel ability mentioned above that the original series lack. We just sold out of our remaining GMRS-50X1 stock, so we will only carry the GMRS-50V2 from now on.
  18. Good catch, should be fixed now. You might need to refresh the page a few times if it doesn't immediately show properly.
  19. You should have the Raspberry Pi duplex mode set to simplex so it doesn't try to add hang time to the repeater. The setting is in /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf. Our prebuilt image for the RT97S has this setting applied as well as the audio levels preset.
  20. Hi Royce, I appreciate the offer! I think I have everything well under control but it does soak up a lot of my free time. My day job is substantially similar in many ways so burn out is a real thing. Your support as a premium member is greatly appreciated and that's the single best thing you and others can do, along with participating on the forums and making purchases on the online store. So thank you!
  21. I'm looking to do the same. I've amassed quite a collection of radios that are just collecting dust.
  22. I'm pleased to announce a new feature available on the forums: a new classifieds system! Premium Members can post a listing for radios, repeaters, antennas, and more that they are selling or want to buy. All members can view and purchase items from the seller, a Premium Membership is only required to post advertisements. Purchases are handled between the buyer and seller directly at this time, but we might expand this in the future to handle payments similar to how eBay and PayPal work. There are no commissions since we are not handling the payments on behalf of the parties. If you are a Premium Member, you will see a blue "Submit an advert" button on the Classifieds page. Click on this button and select the category to list your ad under. Listings are active for 21 days for free (less the cost of membership) and can be renewed if the item is still available. You also have the ability to set up shipping options for the buyer, and can paste the tracking number for the shipment once you've completed a sale.
