Thanks, good information. I do have the UV5R talkies they work quite well there's a bit of a learning curve on programming the radios but once you get it down it's not really that hard it's actually kind of fun. Would like to purchase some of the other models just to play around with them some of the other models actually look a little nicer than the UV5R talking, But of course I prefer for them to operate out of the box on all VHF and UHF frequencies for ham radio and/or GRMS. And of course that was my original question is the GT3 ready to go out-of-the-box after of course the initial programming of either ham radio frequencies or GRMS channels/ frequencies, with the GT-3TP you have to open the transmit and receive via computer program, out of the box it will not operate on ham band or GRMS band/ frequencies, thats a bummer.
