  1. My kenwood TK-805D radio appears to transmit, but it;s like a burst and then quits. I don't have a 13.6 volt power supply, only a 12 volt one. Can low voltage prevent issues with the TX of the radio? Thanks guys I thank you for the help. It was the power supply. I ordered another power supply 30 amp and 13.8 dc volts. When it arrived I found out the output voltage was 30 amp, but only 11.6 dc volts. The data was based on european 220 volts/60/1. I hooked up the radio and it did work on the 11.6 volts. I have ordered a correct one 110/60/1 , 30 amps and 13.8 dc volts. I now have another issue. I made a microphone cord to clone my other radios. When I connected it appeared to be working, but no data was being transferred. I disconnected and plugged back in. The transmit radio powered off and will not turn back on. The receive radio is fine. Any ideas as far as where to see what the problem is? I checked the fuse and it was ok.??????? Your help will be appreciated Thanks T
  2. Thanks guys<,I wasn't thinking when I asked about offsets. I also took them in the next room and outside. I said static, but it is more like a blast of static, meaning when I key the mic I get a blast for just a moment and then nothing else. Is it a possibility that the TK805D is just overwhelming the receive radio? I have read about desensing I think it is called might be the culprit. It must be something like that. I can't believe all three radios are bad. I will do some searching and see if that might be the culprit and maybe a way to fix. Any ideas from you guys would be appreciated Thanks JTL
  3. I am in the process of programming three (3) tk805d's, It receives just like it is supposed to. When I try to transmit, the receive radio is receiving, but only static. . Any help will be much appreciated. On another not: I do not see anyway to set offset to be able to be a repeater using two (2) of these radios. Thanks JTL
  4. Has anyone used the GMRS V1 to setup as a repeater like what has been done with the Baofeng UV 5R? I am trying to setup a repeater station for ,y grandkids to be able to talk to each other and their parents while camping or why they are riding bicycles in their community. I have Baofeng UV 9R Plus radios. Tried to set these up. Everything works fine. but when I try and access with GMRS-V1, I cant change the Repeater channels to allow for the "-" duplex. When I do it will only receive. . Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Stump
