  1. I have both Wouxun/KG-935G and Baofeng UV-5G, GMRS radios. I having issues having them talk on a programed channel. I have the two radios. The Wouxuns are for my wife and I and the two Baofengs are for my two children. In Wouxun radios software Rx/Tx - CTCSS/DCS. In the software for Wouxun radios, Rx/Tx – “CTCSS/DCS”, my options are the standard 67.0 – 254.1, DN023 – DN754 and DI023 – DN754. What does the DN and the DI mean? In the software for Wouxun radios, “SP Mute”, my options are DT, DT+DTMF and QT-DTMF. What does the SP Mute options mean? Wouxun software program. The frequencies I am having issues. MyGMRS.com request. Sample #1 What, does DPL mean? MyGMRS.com request. Sample #2. Any Help would so greatly be appreciated, thank-you!
  2. People/Team; I have various GMRS radios and one GMRS repeater i.e. one MXT400 Midland GMRS radio, two Wouxun’s KG-935G, two Baofeng’s UV-5G, and one Revitas RT-97 repeater. I am trying to get them all to talk to each other on a frequency within the regulated parameters, of course! But yet a little more private. For example; 467.6000MHz, input tone 250.3Hz, output tone 154.3Hz. How would I get all of these working/talking to each other? Also is there a way to split the GMRS frequencies with two freqs. and two input/output tones and still Rx &Tx? If so, how? I also have permission to use a local GMRS repeater in my area. SeekSafety; 462.5500MHz, input tone 141.3Hz, output tone 141.3Hz. I want to program my two radios as well with the freq. mentioned above. And if possible I would like to program my RT-97 repeater. And I have permission on another local repeater; GEM700; 462.700MHz, input tone 250.3Hz and output tone 254.1 Hz. I am a somewhat new-confused chirp user. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank-you! Thank-you for your help and patients with me. Be safe! Shannon/WQZQ295 P.S. I am also new at this Forum thing.
  3. Does wall thickness really matter? About Antenna's; so, if I was to make a copper J-pole antenna, does the wall-thickness really matter? So as long it's made to the right overall specs, right/wrong?
  4. Question; I have a Retevis RT97 and a copper J-pole antenna for GMRS. Can I use them together without any issues. If so, what are the advantages and disadvantages? Just looking for options!
  5. I have Wouxun KG-935G and Baofeng, UV-5G. My apologies for not listing my radios. Their version of chirp doesn’t allow me to download the peculiar “US FRS and GMRS channels”. It’s the normal web site download version of chirp. The programing is off of the “regular” version of chirp. Go to the “Radio” tab and select “Import from stock config”. Select “US FRS and GMRS channels” to download the frequencies. Select “ok”. You should be able to see it then. I am new at this Forum stuff.
  6. I have two different GMRS radio’s which can’t be read/write using chirp. They have their own custom version of chirp, although some says it's not chirp. If you go to the Chirp program, select new, to create a new file-tab. Then go to the “Radio” tab and select “Import from stock config”. Select “US FRS and GMRS channels” to download the frequencies. Select “ok”. There are 52 entries in the file. First 22 frequencies are for FRS and from 23 – 44 are GMRS. The last 8 are the GMRS repeaters. All for a total of 52 entries. Why is this different then the pre-program radios? Go and look at #23; you’ll see 462.5500 MHz and the downloaded file It’s 462.5625. Can someone please explain this to me. Thank-you! WQZQ295 Chirp! After downloaded. I haven’t gone much further to check.
  7. I haven't attempted to program the RT97 yet. I still need to get a few more things. I am using the KG-935G's software to program. My problem is ether; I am not programming it right; or I am not transmitting. I program both of my 932G's and when you Tx through one, the other is not Rx. I am still learning what all the selections you have in the program itself. So, I'm lost. If you lookup GEM700's repeater, it has a input Mhz and a different output Mhz. Where would I put the information correctly? I also have two Baofeng's UV-5G and I hope all of them will talk to each other.
  8. I have two Wouxun KG-935G radios. I am able to talk/chat on the pre-program GMRS frequencies. Although, when I program the radios using ( https://www.buytwowayradios.com/wouxun-kg-935g.html ) programing, I am unable to Rx. I not even sure if I am Tx as well or If I am programing it all right. There is three repeaters I have permission to use and I want to program (see below) them. I also want to be able to chat with other radios and they use chirp. Also, I have a RT-97 mobile repeater I want to use. Wouxun uses their own program, which looks exactly like chirp. Any help advice would be greatly appreciated, thank-you! I have two Baofeng UV-5G and one Retcvis RT97 repeater. I have permission GEM700, Emmet Idaho, Seeksafety, Meridian Idaho and one more in Mountain Home, Idaho. I tried to remove the Hyper Link, sorry!
  9. I'm probably beating a dead horse with this. Does, anyone know if there is a way to get a city to place a GMRS antenna, city limits, county, etc, where it would be open to everyone. Has anyone any experience with this. There are vey few in my state and the ones that do exist are private.
