I know this is a old post but I'm wondering what does the faa and FCC consider a "public airport" is it a commercial airport or a airport that anyone can fly in and out of and now um now tying to be a smart a$$ because to me a public airport would be a airport owned by a public place like a city or county or state and is used for commercial use a private airport would be one that is owned by the city or private person and only used upon request for a certain type of aircraft like smaller planes and not commercial like 747 I may be wrong. Hope some one can help me out

I was wondering if anyone has herd if anyone is or will be putting up a gmrs repeater in the city of Marshfield and/ or city of Wausau so maybe that the gmrs users can take back and fourth between Wausau Wisconsin Rapids Marshfield and be on be happy family would love to put up a repeater but due to the fact of living only 1 mile from a public airport and having trees that are close to around 40 to 60 feet tall around me a repeater is a no go. Any ideas? Thoughts? Live on south side of Marshfield i want to talk from my place to mainly north of town to the north west and would be nice to talk in-between.
