  1. I got one (BTECH GMRS-V1) about a month ago, so far, so good. I will definitely buy a few more. I am enjoying all the extra channels I could scan. The only con I found using this radio so far is not being able to transmit on channels 23 to 127. To get around this, I have been programming repeater names, freq and pl codes in the none transmit channels. While scanning I could see the name of the repeater that's active, then put the pl code into the REPEATER pair down on 15 - 22. Thanks for all the info. I also have a few Tera TR-505's, which are good radios, just not programmable unless connected to the computer. Now there are being locked to one channel and given to the wife and kids. .
  2. Sounds like you are looking for the Motorola MS350R.
  3. Here is one I found, I have not made this one. http://nt1k.com/blog/2011/homebrew-gmrs-3-element-yagi/
  4. I just got a few of the Tera's (TR-505) from the Ham Outlet store near me. So far they a working good, the battery life has been great. I do wish they had a screen, but these are to be used with the family and kids so may be that's a good thing. I did notice the TR-590 has a screen and 200 channels, may have look it to it.
