  1. yes thats what i have is Norton and it flagged the new version from being installed and removed it, didnt even give me the option that it normally does to mark it as safe. Still running the old version
  2. Hey there, just wondering if anyone is getting a issue that when trying to update Chirp Next its coming up as being unsafe and removed by anti virus as soon as i try to download the latest version
  3. Hello, as title says i need a new one because mine detached from the one end and i dont think its working correctly anymore, wondering if anyone has any input to if this one will work (SMA Female to UHF Female (SO239) 18 inch Pigtail Cable (RG58)) for connecting it to my UT-72G to my Wouxun KG-935g. Thxs for any replies in advance! Link provided as well to the one i am talking about... https://www.buytwowayradios.com/btwr-essentials-pt18-smaf-uhff.html Chris -WRTB501
  4. Ty! that actually looks like a really good one, i too have a short stem, i run a Specialized Roubaix Sport and it has a short stem as well with a spring in it to absorb impact of the bumps so that looks like it will work as well, again ty!
  5. Thxs for the reply! I recently bought a pouch for the bicycle and its working but couldnt find to many that seemed to fit my need, do you happen to have the name of it so i can look into the one you have and see if it may be better than what im currently using? Right now i have a heavy duty radio pouch on mine, sounds similiar with the 2 straps, but instead mine wraps around the handlebars and then i help keep it propped up by using the top of the strap to lock in behind the break line which prevents it from rocking back and fourth
  6. thxs for the replys, i will look into that as well!
  7. Hello all! I am thinking of getting the KG-1000G to be used as a Desktop GMRS radio since im really getting into it all. wondering if anyone would recommend a specific power supply for it and possibly a antenna if you have thoughts on that as well, basiclly trying to get a price estimate on everything, so far i was thinking the entire setup could be like 500-700? depending on what i choose to go with? I did see some power supplies i have my eye on like the Wouxun DWC30WIN 30A Switching Power Supply with LCD Display that goes for like $110.00. But as im still learning it all i always like to hear the feed back of you guys/gals! ty! -Chris/WRTB501
  8. oh great to know, i prefer USPS over UPS lol, thxs alot for the info!
  9. do you know if they offer package tracking through our GMRS accounts by chance?
  10. oh i see oh i see what your saying now lol, do you know what the delivery speed is from this site by chance?
  11. I was thinking of getting it from BuyTwoWayRadios, i figured that would be the best bet to make sure i get what i know i should get lol
  12. ok awesome! thxs so much for the feed back and info! sounds like im sold on getting it and trying it out. much appreciated
  13. oh fantastic to know! thxs alot, so much to learn lol...so basiclly its just any piece of metal that it can stick to for the waves and what not? does it matter the size of the ground plane or ideal size anyways?
  14. Hello all! I seen alot of good reviews on people using this on there HT for setting it up as a base station for them, i have the Wouxun KG-935G and i did see some people using it on that radio as well, has anyone had experience with this antenna personally or have any thoughts on it if its worth getting or atleast trying to use it at home? thxs -Chris/WRTB501
  15. ya ok, thats what the thought in my head was, thought i remember someone telling me the same thing so was gonna research it more before buying it but thxs for confirming that for me, sounds like what i have is the best i could hope for atm with a HT, thxs all for the replies! very much appreciated
  16. oh ok, thxs for that info. i was confused tbh because they do label it as a GMRS but the MHZ isnt the same as my NA-771G, thats why i figured i would mention it as well so appreciate that feedback
  17. Thanks for the reply, ya it may just be the area im using it in at the time, i am in the cities but for the most part i seem to pick the repeater up pretty decently and im still a good portion of inside the radius of the repeater as well. I appreciate your reply, was just thinking even though its decent is there a possiblity of making it any better but sounds like what i have atm is as good as i can try to get with what im using. I thought of picking up a longer antenna say something 20inch or more if that would even make a diff? maybe a foldable thats like 42.5inch i was looking at, not sure if thats a reasonable solution or not, im new to GMRS and still learning alot of what and does work and taking the info i do get in from the pros and vets to it all lol. (Antenna i was looking at if its even worth it assuming it would work on the Wouxun KG-935G: 42.5-Inch Length ABBREE SMA-Female Dual Band 144/430Mhz Foldable CS Tactical Antenna for GMRS Radio)
  18. Hello all, so i just got my new Wouxun KG-935G this morning and playing around with it and really love it so far, i have been able to hit the repeater in my area but some areas like my moms house and a few other spots does become a dead zone, i currently also purchased and put the Nagoya NA-771G antenna on it as well because the reviews were really good from what i saw, so my question is would there be something that would possibly give me more range than what im currently using on the Wouxun. Thanks in advance for any opinions or comments! -Chris/WRTB501
  19. thats what happens when im tired, again much appreciated for all the help to a newbie! lol
  20. ok so i made my decision, i misread the original suggestion entirely lmao....im gonna go with the Wouxun 935g, ty all for your input! just ordered it!
  21. hmm decisions decisions lol...part of me says to go with the Wouxun then and give that a try with the NA-771g, i do like the bigger display it seems to have, the larger battery seems like a plus for me as well, i also want to put a Retevis walkie talkie shoulder mic 2 pin on it as well, so i think that should work so when im out bicycling i can use that well keeping it on my backpack
  22. so far im debating on the Wouxun 905g and the UV-9g, now after playing with my BF-F8HP i have a understanding of how it works atleast, is either one of those better than the other by chance? i do plan on getting the NA-771g as well
  23. oh thats great to know! i was about to order a 35inch antenna thinking it would help, didnt know there is GMRS specific ones that when tuned could still work better than something bigger lol. and ty for the suggestions as well, ill look into those GMRS specific radios!
  24. thxs for the reply! and ya just looked that up and it looks like a beast, i may consider that for home, atm im looking for something mobile for when im out on the bicycle so i can talk to peope etc, now i do have the Baofeng BF-F8HP but i just saw its not "technically" registers under FCC guidelines i guess? so i figure i may want to get something that is in those guidelines, anything off the top of your head that would be a good mobile? oh and i also did get the extra antenna for it which is a Nagoya NA-771, so maybe its just that no one was around or on the radio, i read that was the best antenna, other wise feel free to let me know which atennas would be best as well, ty!
