  1. The Firmware can be a bit tricky. I like it but I won't be updating it again with any newer firmware. You can brick it if not done right.
  2. Right now I'm using the speaker out on my Wouxon 1000 g plus to computer to Zello pc to transmit. Any device that allows you to transmit from Zello to your GMRS radio? I got the Tigertronic SLUSBRJ4 and it transmits from Radio to Zello with no audio back to the radio.
  3. When I'm at my other Home I use it to talk to other GMRS users in Tennessee. In Florida, it's everyone around my area up to 20 miles on Simplex or one of 5 or so repeaters. We also have a local community Communication channel for our Neighborhood for Emergency use or chit chat
  4. A few of the repeaters listed here are not working. How does my GMRS verify the repeater information when it's submitted?
  5. The Orlando 700 covers Disney World according to my test and that's way beyond the coverage map. It varies. In Tennesse I find the coverage maps are mostly accurate
  6. Love the Coax Seal product but it's sticky sometimes and gets on the threads of the connectors. Any concerns if it does? Should the threads be cleaned before reconnecting?
  7. OK. Now it's reading higher around 33 watts to 35. I might have had the power levels to medium on my radio. Someone said I should be getting 50 watts at the Antenna. Thought that was wrong
  8. 50 watts out. Checked the reading at the end of the 65 foot cable run. At about 20 feet it reads 48 watts out before the Bulkhead Lightning arrester. At the end, it's reading about half. at around 25 watts. Is this normal? See the order below for my equipment UHF Female SO-239 to UHF Female SO-239 Bulkhead Lightning Arrester (Not Compatible with Helium) arrester-uhf-ff 1 $23.95 Times Microwave LMR-400 Cable build Length 46 FT
  9. That's a good question. I have contacts from around Central Florida on Simplex. If I had to pick one repeater I would pick the Orlando 700 The Ed Fong does a great job getting that repeater but I was expecting to get better coverage with a Tram or Diamond. In my Car near my house I get the Orlando 650 and two other repeaters. Perhaps an option would be a Yagi-Uda
