amaff Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 I don't even need to look at the comments to know what the rabble is saying about his not-a-radio-guy knowledge Pretty decent showing for the $10 Pxton tho. Amazing what just having a 'real' antenna can do. Quote

hxpx Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Who would've thought a little unicorn radio would perform so poorly? So disappointed. Quote

Maybe I'll just rattle can my radios pink and white. I like how Project Farm pits Harbor Freight (or in this case, probably Amazon) specials against major brands that cost 5x as much. amaff 1 Quote
hxpx Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Ha. Someone on Reddit questioned whether the pxtons were actually FRS radios. Pxton puts the FCC ID in the Amazon listing and look at that - Part 90, not Part 95 (scraped from https://fccid.io/2AX68-PX888S since the FCC search appears to be down) Still, 1.8W so that antenna's doing its thing. When he started talking about some of the cheaper radios and using their pre-installed frequencies, it did set off a few alarm bells haha I'm not exactly shocked. Quote
