Regarding Monday's weather in the southern US, a large area of unstable air is moving easterly from Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. This system is associated with two low pressure areas - one in Central Georgia and one in Oklakoma with a strong southern warm Gulf moisture pattern and cool air to the northwest. These two systems will be triggering thunderstorms from Texas to the Carolinas over the next 36 hours and southern states could see some severe storms with high winds, hail and the possibility of a random tornado.

This is the Birmingham Doppler as of 6 AM CDT, Monday, March 19.

Take care, keep your weather alert radio on and be safe.

As we mentioned very early on Monday morning, March 19, regarding southern states storm potential for Monday, several lines of severe thunderstorms took place in the late afternoon and early evening from North Central Mississippi, through Northern Alabama and into Northern Georgia.

Injuries and one death have been reported so far and there may be more, as Emergency Responders survey their jurisdictions.

We are supplying one link below that includes information that was reported late Monday evening. Please keep the victims of these storms in your thoughts.
