ULTRA2
Just want to verify with everyone here. If a repeater is marked open and when you key up someone on the repeater ask you if you got permission to key up and use the repeater what you do? I asked him to check mygmrs and see that repeater is open but that individual kept insisting that i need permission. SIDE NOTE:I ALSO ASKED FOR HIS GMRS LICENSE # TO SEE IF HE IS LICENSED USER HIMSELF, BUT THAT INDIVIDUAL AVOIDED MY QUESTION ALL TOGETHER
WRAF213
I'd be wary of anyone refusing to identify, they probably have a reason for not giving a callsign (like not having one, or not being who they say they are). Instead, try contacting whoever is listed as the repeater owner on MyGMRS, either over-the-air or by email.

PRadio
I got permission to use a repeater locally. The owner was very nice, and even offered to let me use a Motorola mobile he had until I got a mobile of my own. I was using a handheld. I got on one night and another user quickly keyed up, asked who I was, though I had identified myself with my call sign, then told me I was on the wrong repeater. I wasn't, and I had permission. I decided to discontinue using the repeater. Though the owner was great, I don't need to wast my time on jerks. Sad, but for now I remain simplex. n4gix
Don't allow one "Sad Sack" operator spoil your enjoyment of a repeater. If nothing else, contact the repeater's owner and let him know what this clod said. Allow him to set "Sad Sack" to rights. berkinet, PRadio, Hans and 1 other
