Atmospheric instability along and just behind a cold front moving through the South has the potential to produce widespread severe thunderstorms and some tornadoes from central Texas to the Carolinas over the next 48 to 72 hours.

Please monitor your local weather sources and emergency government advisories. Also, you can use the link below to use the NWS Interactive Map. Click on any area of interest for up to the minute advisories, watches and warnings. Take Care and Be Safe.

ADD ON TO POST # 1

Second round of severe weather possible for the same areas mentioned in Post # 1 above - for April 17 to 20.

A strong series of low pressure areas is tracking generally southeast from the Pacific Coast and will most likely draw in Gulf of Mexico moisture as the complex cold front moves eastward across the South, mid to late week. This activity may trigger super cell thunderstorms and some tornadoes in the same general areas that were affected earlier this past week.  Persons in these areas should monitor local advisories, watches and warnings. The NWS-NOAA Interactive map link below can also be utilized for up to the minute official information.  Take care and be safe.
