The Commission has detailed language in  Part 90 Section 407  for Public Safety and Business Class radio systems regarding emergency operations. The language in the Part 95 regulations is not as detailed, but the essence of the Commission's regulations is to offer a means of communicating when other means of communications are disrupted and to provide a path for safety and security and for life and property.  The sfaff at MyGMRS.com is offering this information for reference only and this information will remain at the top of this section for easy access.

ยง 90.407   Emergency communications.

The licensee of any station authorized under this part may, during a period of emergency in which the normal communication facilities are disrupted as a result of hurricane, flood, earthquake or similar disaster, utilize such station for emergency communications in a manner other than that specified in the station authorization or in the rules and regulations governing the operation of such stations. The Commission may at any time order the discontinuance of such special use of the authorized facilities.
