Programing NOAA stations on KG-805G GMRS?

Bombahook1

Question

Hello,

I have a KG-805G GMRS radio I just picked up. I didn't realize that the NOAA weather channels are not available pre-programed. My understanding is that I can program them into the radio.

I have a programming cable and have the Wouxun software. I think that I have found my local NOAA weather stations here. Is the programming as simple as filling in the table? Obviously I want to only monitor those channels, is there a way set it up so it's listen only? I tried to do that but got a out of range message from the software.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I own multiple KG-805G, and it does not support NOAA.

The radio does support programming of 128 Rx/Tx frequency-tone combinations but they must be must be GMRS frequencies.

Memories can be used for hold UHF Rx-only frequencies within a limited range +/- away from the GRMS ones. For example, I have 432.0000 programmed in mine, just for kicks.
