is it "Connection Denied" or "Connection Failed"

Connection Failed means that for whatever reason the nodes could not connect. This could be that the node is unavailable, or perhaps too many nodes are connected to that one node and it is unable to allow further connections without causing issues, or that their node is experiencing degraded internet access.

Connection Denied is just that, The owners of the hub have chosen to not allow outside connections to access their hub/node. This is usually done if outside nodes or hubs connect and cause issues, or if the node/hub is owned by a club that requires dues for access.

It's possible there's an issue on that particular hub. It was recently added so I'm not sure if something is up with it.

Sometimes if you just power on your node the other nodes haven't had a chance to learn about your node, so when you attempt to connect they will reject you since you're not on the whitelist of registered nodes. Waiting 5-10 minutes at most will solve that issue since they will fetch the list of known repeaters and yours will then be on the list.

I stand corrected, it is saying connection failed, rather than connection denied.  My node has been up for about two days now, so I'm not sure what the next step is.  Is it correct etiquette for me to attempt to connect to the Illinois hub rather than the midwest hub or does it matter?  Thank You.

Connecting to the Midwest Hub would be the proper way. I recently added the state hubs to allow us options as we have a lot of traffic. I am talking to Rich about the connection issue, not sure whats going on.

Did you ever figure out the issue?

My node has started giving connection failed when trying to connect To hubs that I’ve previously connected to.

But my other node Appears to work fine still
