Forum Account Fixes

Recommended Posts

After migrating the forum software to a new version, it came to my attention that some users had different display names (usernames) on their forum account versus their myGMRS account.

At some point in the past, there was a misconfiguration on the server that allowed a small number of people to change their forum display name, when it should be tied to your myGMRS account only.

I identified all the users that fell into this case, and renamed your display name to match your myGMRS username. If you're having a hard time logging into the forums, please use your actual myGMRS username and password and not what you've been using (especially if you're using a password manager to remember your credentials).

Hopefully this smooths out the rest of the issues people had with logging in and linking their myGMRS account with a forum account.

I'm afraid I've been having issues all morning. When logging in to mygmrs.com, it kept telling me that my password was expired. I finally seem too have that sorted out. But now, here on the forum, I still can't log in using my display name. I CAN log in using my email. However, my display name is incorrect. It's using my old GMRS call that expired years ago (WQAR285), not my current call that I use as my display name (WREK883).
