Dear All,

I am just curious to know if anyone in the central MA area is using the GMRS repeaters in Framingham or Wachusett? I seem to be unable to reach both of them and I was just trying to figure out if it is because of an error on my repeater configuration, my distance to the two repeaters, or my location is being blocked by vegetation, etc.

I am using a 5W handheld GMRS unit.

Thanks, WRMN246

Welcome!

One of the best ways to discover the answer, is to take your HT for a drive to be sure you are in the proper reception zone for one or both of these repeaters.

When you transmit and then let go of the "push to talk" button, you should hear a "repeater tail" signal for a second or two before the repeater lets go of the frequency.

A small minority of repeaters do not have this tail.

What model HT do you use?

Do you program it from the keyboard or by computer and cable?

Thanks for the reply. I am using a Radioddity GM-30. I programmed it using the software on a computer and cable. Good idea to drive out closer to the area around the repeaters. I'll have to plan a trip I guess.
