I have three TIDRADIO HTs, when I use their programming software and save my changes it saves it using Internet Explorer, then it will not open the file when I attempt to retrieve it. Any suggestions?

This sounds like a Windows issue not a TidRadio programming software issue  - BUT, to be sure, can you provide more details on what you mean by "it saves it using Internet Explorer", and what, exact steps are you taking to "retrieve" the file?

After changes in the program I click on "save as", "my computer-desktop" then I go to my desktop and that icon shows Internet Explorer, click on it to open, it brings up a box "View Downloads-Internet Explorer" that has two buttons "save" or "open". I can click on either one no file opens.

The TIDRADIO review of GM-5R is great, Amazon did not have the two pack listed and the price of the single radio was less than what you quoted.

This....the 2nd line under the file name is usually what format you're saving the file in. Does it do the same thing if you save the file in your documents folder?

Having a hard time visualizing what's going on from the description, whether the issue is when saving the file, or when trying to reopen the file afterwards. If it's the latter, it's probably more of a file type association thing, where windows wants to open that file type with IE. This can be fixed by right clicking, picking "open with", ticking the checkbox at the bottom to "always open this type with" and selecting the tidradio software (may need to look under 'more apps' to find it.

For it to be trying to open with ie is gotta be getting saved as .HTML. Probably needs to be saved as a .CSV. That seems to be the generic file type for these programs.

If it’s being saved as a csv (comma separated value) file, and you try to open it by double clicking or right-clicking the file and choosing “open,” the default program for opening csv files is your web browser, so it’ll open the file and you’ll see all of the data, but you can’t do anything with it that way.

You'll have to go to File -> Open in your radio software and drill down to the directory where you saved the file. (Hopefully you will already be there and won’t have to change directories.) 
 

The radio software might open if you double click the file from the file explorer if  you set the radio program up as the default program for csv files, but I wouldn’t count on that working.

Yeah, I was leaning toward it being the reopening side it things, but wasn't sure if I was processing the original post correctly.

@alanplarue's method is another way around the file association issue too.
