How to get started in GMRS?

Hi guys!  I'm green as grass in the GMRS area.  My main concern is maintaining contact with family in case of emergency as well as normal day-to-day commo.  I'd like to be able to work on repeaters.  I want to just get my feet wet and see in I want to get in up to my neck later.  What recommendations for radios do you have for me?  MY home area is West Palm Beach FL but I travel the entire east coast pretty regularly, WRFT789, Dan

If you don’t already, binge watch Notarubicon videos on YouTube. That will give you a background that will help you choose. One thing to keep in mind is that no matter what radio you get now you’ll get another.

Agreed! RA25, UV-5R, UV-9G x2, BF-T11 x6, LXT600PA x 2, and waiting to see what other deals I find hahaha

Many part 95 certified radios. Just do some searching on the forums and you will find many of them.
