Fuse replacement on Motorolla sm50, and new power supply.

Looks like my 24 to 13.8 volt power supply on my FTL675 repeater was unstable and allowed a surge to blow the transmitter fuse. I contacted the seller and he sent me directions to replace it, it is a green resistor looking thing and I have already disassembled and isolated the fuse. in the next day or so, I will heat up the solder gun and replace it. unfortunately I must also obtain a more stable power supply, I am considering a CV/CC "constant current/ constant voltage stabilized type, Much more expensive. does anyone have any suggestions?

fuse is in the upper left hand corner, next to a large diode, I am thinking of adding a wire and making the fuse external. again technical direction needed. Thanks in advance.

there should have been a fuse in the power line. a 10 or 15 ATC blade type.

I would suggest an Astron ,Samlex or dura comm supplies. they're not cheap but will last for yrs.

It was fed from a 10 amp fuse on the block. this one has 3  fuse block so I am also thinking of running the radios from 2 separate fuses.  I do not want to have to do this again, wish me luck.

yes William, and Thank you! I clicked "report post" on the duplicate as soon as I saw it. as i recall it said somewhere to do that if something similar happened. I have a slow and intermittent internet connection here and that seems to be the problem, will have better internet in new house. I hope not to work you too hard in the meantime. ha

Thanks JohnE I agree, 5amp each or 7.5amp? these radios came with power connectors soldered together and with heat shrink tubing.
