fwbray
I have a relative living in the Waynesville, NC area and I'm looking for GMRS repeaters in the area that might serve them. They aren't yet licensed but I'm trying to encourage them. Thanks! TrikeRadio

The one license that can't be shared is Amateur Radio License. If that's the case, your relative would need find Amateur Radio License class and take the exam. It's simple and you can do more with Amateur Radio that's not really allowed on GMRS or CB What happens, KIL and KIS 73 DE Adam K3JCP & WQAI363
gortex2
There were 2 in the Ashville area. Unknown how they faried in the recent storm. Also to the west in Sylva but not much else. To be honest I'd buy them an inreach and ship it ot them.
Reloader762
Several repeaters with wide coverage that could possibly serve the Waynesville area depending on their radio and antenna setup. I live in central NC and can hit several repeaters up in the mountain areas that are forty-five to fifty miles away. BTECH GMRS 50V2 as a base and Ed Fong J Pole twenty-five feet off the ground. My elevation is 840 ft. above sea level. https://mygmrs.com/repeater/5499 https://mygmrs.com/repeater/5148 https://mygmrs.com/repeater/8167 WRTT642
