RICHMOND COUNTY REACT GMRS REPEATER SYSTEMS
User Guidelines and Radio Programming Information
Dear REACT GMRS Repeater System Members,
In order to ensure a smooth and respectful operation of the RICHMOND COUNTY REACT GMRS REPEATER SYSTEM, please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines!
911 REACT MODE / REACT EVENT MODE:
• The RICHMOND COUNTY REACT REPEATERS are for all club members to use,
IF IT'S DEEMED NECESSARY, WE WILL HAVE TO GO INTO REACT MODE WE ASK ALL NON-REACT MEMBERS (CLUB MEMBER'S) TO STAND BY WHILE THE REPEATERS ARE UTILIZED BY US UNLESS YOU HAVE EMERGENCY TRAFFIC OF YOUR OWN!!
1. Radio Activation and Checks:
• Upon connecting your radio to the system, kindly request an administrator for a radio check.
• Once your connection is confirmed, refrain from requesting additional radio checks or offering them to others.
2. Frequency Etiquette:
• During conversations (QSO's), avoid monopolizing the frequency. Allow intervals
between transmissions for other members to join in.
• Periodically state your CALL SIGN so that fellow listeners can identify the speaker.
3. Identification Protocol:
• Only respond to individuals who provide their CALL SIGN. Do not engage with unidentified users or jumpers.
4. Respectful Communication:
• Maintain a respectful tone, refraining from the use of offensive language, discussions related to religion, or politics.
• Exhibit courtesy to fellow members at all times.
5. Seek Assistance:
• If you encounter any issues, promptly contact an administrator for assistance.
6. Confidentiality:
• Do not share the PL / DPL tones or passwords with anyone, including family members.
7. Inquiries:
• For any inquiries related to RICHMOND COUNTY REACT, reach out to our administrators.
8. Participation Requirement:
• Adherence to these rules is mandatory for membership in the RICHMOND COUNTY REACT GMRS REPEATER SYSTEMS! Failure to comply may result in removal from the system without prior warning ((WITHOUT A REFUND)).
9. Weekly Net:
• Join our REACT net every Tuesday night at 8:00 PM EST. Wait for the net controller to call your REACT number before checking in. Net control does not entertain early check-ins.
• Join our regular check-in with the OCTANE NET EVERY Wednesday night at 8:00 PM EST. If you pre-checked into the OCTANE NET, please wait to be called if not you can check in under late check-ins. 10. Radio Testing:
• Please refrain from testing your radio over the Repeater. The Repeater has been operational for over 6 years without issues. Test your radio on a Simplex channel with a friend or an experienced operator.
By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure an enjoyable experience for all members. Failure to comply may result in removal from the system ((without warning.))
