I am very familiar with solar systems and battery back ups,  I have built control boxes both solar and AC for Cellular networks.  However I have never build the radio portion.

I will be building sometime soon we will see how it works.

    thank you for the help.

Did you get this project done? How did it turn out for you?

  2. 1: Could you please think about adding a "Future Install" (with a color of it's own that isn't black) with a date expected for the install under "Add Repeater"? That way people wanting to add a repeater somewhere can see if there is one already projected for install. I have received calls from two people already stating that they were getting ready to place a repeater in service and now they have to reorder crystals or reprogram their repeaters. I like to work with others so if I can see that someone has a projected repeater planned, on a specified frequency, then I can reroute our project plan. Putting a projected date with a max of 90 days should work for most of us. If it's not up in 90 days it's not likely gonna be for the most part....

2: Can we have an avenue for more than one person to be assigned to a set of repeaters? I have need to allow a manager, or other chosen person, to be able to add, modify, or delete a repeater of ours when I'm not available to do so...

and, 3: Could there be a way to show "Linked" repeaters in a different color on the maps?

    Thanks

  3. Depending on which business band you are referring to determines on if a user has to ID or not. On most trunked systems the system owner is licensed and the repeaters ID with the owners call ID, then the owner is only required to maintain a list of user names in case of inspection or information is required by FCC. So it's not uncommon to hear people talking and not giving ID's on some channels. Even now in other bands, like Public Safety, you hear the ID every so many minutes but you don't hear the Dispatcher giving out their call sign and time anymore....it's not required.

  4. I have a small network set up using a modified version of app_rpt. I use my own registration server so there's no dependency on the AllStar network, and no way to accidentally connect to a Ham repeater. By keeping them separate, we're in compliance with the FCC regulations for GMRS in that we're preventing unauthorized access.

You just need a PC you can wipe clean and put Linux on (or even a Raspberry Pi), and a piece of hardware to interface with the repeater. We've used the URIx board from DMK Engineering (about $70), and the RTCM board (no PC needed, but more expensive at about $270). The RTCM is tricky to set up but the big draw is that there's no need to alter the firewall settings at the repeater site (some people have no way to forward ports).

If that's something you're interested in, let me know and I can PM you with more details.

Would you sir be willing to share your setup with me.... I have several Asterisk servers running but I haven't dealt with app_rpt in a while and I'm missing something somewhere.  Thank you...
