Yes, this fixes the cables that use the "older" Prolific chips.
Do you have the so-called Wouxun "Red" cable? I do not think they use the older Prolific chip and my recollection is that Randy @OffRoaderX posted a comment somewhere here on this Forum about his getting his Wouxun Red Cable to work in Windows 11. Randy?
I do have the red cable.

I have a Wouxun KG936G+ I would like to program with my laptop. The cable that came with the radio says "Support Windows 10". Is there a way to update the driver in the cable to Windows 11 or is a separate cable needed?

Anyone know what is going on with this repeater? it's located in Huber Heights, Ohio. It's listed twice on mygmrs.com. Both listings show the same frequency and tones, but they show different owners. I used to be able to hit the one shown owned by WRUX822 on my HT with a stock antenna, but now I can't hit it.

Anyone have a recommendation on a reasonable SWR meter?

I was recently given permission to use a local repeater, and the owner sent me "DPL" tones which I think are Motorolas answer to CTCSS tones. It seems to me that most repeaters list CTCSS tones. Wouldn't the DPL system limit the number or other radios I could connect with?

While working through setting up channels on my radio, I noticed on the display for narrow/wide band that the repeater channels display a "+" after the W designation. What is the difference between the W and the "W+". I've looked through the manual and there is no explanation.

I'm trying to demystify the witchcraft that is a j-pole antenna. Where the feed line comes into the SO-239 bulkhead connector, the frame of the connector is connected to the shield of the coax - which is grounded. That metal frame is also connected ( soldered ) to one element of the antenna, and then the center conductor of the coax is soldered to another part of the copper tubing just a few inches away from the connector. Why is this not a short circuit across the output of the radio? I know I'm missing something - I just don't know what.
End of Transmission noise

Sometimes while monitoring conversations on a local repeater. I hear a screeching noise at the end of some transmissions. I don't think it's the repeater because several people may be talking and it doesn't happen on each transmission. It seems to be one specific radio, and it's not a Roger beep type sound. "Screech" is the only word I can think of to describe it. It's pretty distracting.
Is there certain type of radio that does this?
