wow that is a nce setup and very tall. was gonna ask if anyone painted their copper j-pole against corrosion or turning rustic green? Any pros and cons?
Thanks...
interesting setup. I also have the copper j-pole from KB9VBR and haven't install it. Maybe should try the same installing it inside the house. Doesn't t have any interference upon transmission and receive? I was hoping if I can transmit and connect to the repeater which s about 20 miles from my house. My radio has a respective 22 watts. Anything opinion will help. Thank you.
I only tried it one time in this radio. But I have a hunch after several tries in the handheld, it is possible that what you're saying is true. I'l going drop the laird magnamount antenna in my car and try it again. That antenna transmits and receives very far especially where I live which is high elevation. and see if I can get it to ping.
BTW: Does anyone know or have a bulletin in adding a cooling fan in this radio? Anytone AT-778UV
Thank you for the follow-up. You have a very strong signal in Sherwood-Newberg. I was monitoring a few months ago on a hand held. I'll probably setup my small base station so I could connect better. I bought a J-pole last year. It seems alot easier and friendlier to install than my old CB antenna. I'm gonna try to install it this coming days. I havent really use the GMRS alot. I'm practically new to the radio. But this radio will surely come in handy in case of emergencies..
