So, I’ve no answer, just another question. How many repeater channels can one set up on the UV-5G PLUS? It’s really helpful to set up a lot if traveling, and have CPS pages for different States, or routes ready to load. Rubicon says that you can program it with CHIRP

No such luck. So I did an Amazon reorder and replace. The Beta refers to the Bluetooth dongle, that lists its software for the Radi oddity GM-30-Pro as beta….you use that to program the GM-15-Pro from Baofeng. Go figure? Chirp doesn’t work for either radio, but Baofeng has $25 dollar software for the GM-15-Pro, and Radioddity has free software for its GM-30-Pro, and both can be used to program the GM-15-Pro. (Just don’t upgrade the Firmware with the Radioddity software). I think that was my original problem.

Hi Folks,
So I used it successfully to program two GM-30 (beta). Programmed one, saved the settings, and then cloned it onto another. However, I don’t seem to be able now re-read those new setting, or write the setting file that I saved (and wrote successfully one time to a GM-30 (beta). This sucks, because i had a lot of good frequencies and had took some time.
If I try to re-read, it either hangs or gives and error. Also, if I try to write the old file, it gives and error, or hangs…However, if I write and earlier file (no problems) wait…I think i have to turn sync off….crap…let me try that.
new to GMRS question on Baofeng GM-15 Pro

I bought the same radios. Programming is glitchy. Here is what I tried. First, I got the Radioddity Bluetooth dongle and used the Beta GM-30 software to program. It’s slow…you can one channel and it’s not a spreadsheet. It worked once or twice, but eventually I bricked the GM-15 pro’s using it. Returned to Amazon, and got another set. This time I got a cable, and downloaded after $25, the RTS software for the GM-15 pro. It’s pretty useless, and can’t set the DIY-channels that can be additional repeaters. So I then got the 2.3 version of the software for the Radioddity GM-30. I set every repeater I could in the DIY channels and all the local MURs and anything use I could find >channel 60 on the GM-15 Pro. It wrote to both radio. But they are now BRICKs again, I can’t read or write to them. However, I got a lot of stuff into it. I could try the hard reset, but that DID NOT WORK on the first set. So I guess I’m stuck with what’s in their brains. Essentially they are disposable. So my advise it to get the Radioddity GM-30 software for windows, read the GM-15 pro with it, fill up the shed with all info, and write, you may only get one shot at it.
