FRS 1 is pretty busy around these parts (Central Maine) right now with the snowmobilers and, later on, the four wheelers. Other than that it is pretty quiet. I am thinking of getting a repeater going up here as I do have another person interested in GMRS getting his license and another one who is an FRS user getting into the idea of the extended range of GMRS. I love the 10 years licence as it makes things easier, take me for example, Licence issued On Oct 31st 2017, like our driving licenses renewal, its an easy thing to remember. My renewal is on Halloween I won't be forgetting it :-) Just remember if you move away you must update your details on the FCC database. All the very best..Shane

Hello everyone, I am rather a newbie to GMRS, but not about radio communications, as I only got my licence on Oct 31st :-) I am located in central Maine, roughly about 30 miles south of Bangor, ME. . I am wondering id there are any other GMRS ops around me? If so where is the activity? Its great to be here on this forum as I have learned a lot.
