Hello, new to GMRS and learning a lot. Up and running now on local repeaters and starting to understand more.

Mostly using a Retevis Ailunce HA1G handheld right now. Just ordered a Bingfu magnet mount antenna with ground planes for my vehicle to increase range when traveling or to use at home if needed for more range.

Doing all of this with my buddy Kevin to set up communications for emergency situations. He has the same setup as well. He also has a Retevis RA87 mobile unit at home running off a Retevis 5' fiberglass base antenna located on the roof of his house for even greater range. I may do a home setup like his for myself in the future.

Does anyone else use either of these specific setups? I would welcome some feedback on our choices and I do have a few questions specific to our equipment.
