UPDATE: New Baofeng cable works flawlessly. Had to connect the cable to a USB 3.0 port for the com port to show up- did not work on usb 2.0 port. After that the firmware update zipped thru no problemo.

IGNORE THIS, it was a fluke that it worked that one time. I cant get the latest update to work even with the bulb grease. Ome time it got to 99 pct and still failed. I've tried over 50 time so far. adjusting windows com port settings doesnt seem to help either. I'll try a diff cable I guess. I had to put a very thin coating of dielectric grease on my Kenwood cable connectors to get my H3 firware update to work. My update was getting anywhere from 10 to 50 pct across before it would fail. I tried prob 20 times while pressing the cable like the instructions say to do. The grease made it work first try. Very very thin coating.
