I am having a hard time connecting to the central Springfield repeater. I have a baofeng GM-5RH any suggestions?

I was just curious how long does it take to get approved for talking on a repeater? I asked for permission to talk on the Springfield repeater and it says approval (does that mean I’m approved) I’m new to all of this stuff. Chad Odom WSEG546
