Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to have to go with a multipack that is easy to use, FCC compliant, etc. I should be in range of a nearby elevated repeater. Our area has frequent power outages in addition to being in a hurricane risk area, so these are for family sharing, etc. It baffles me as the to why the overlords require GMRS radios to have fixed antennas.
