After ensuring comm port is selected and correct, the PC still can’t see the repeater.

It does along with the power connector.

The only difference is as stated, I am using the supplied USB/9pin serial port cable. I will need to get a different programming cable to connect to the power connection which was not supplied with the unit. I am only guessing there is a difference, not sure.

Does the RT97S have to be powered up to use the programming software? I had read some where that this is not the case. I just received mine and wanted to create a base file before adding any CTCSS or other configurations to it. After downloading the software from Retevis I have tried with no success using the programming cable supplied with the unit which is USB to 9 pin serial port. It tells me to check my connections.
