I had the same issue for the last few weeks (being a newbie)... frustrating on the Baofengs. Tested using a repeater, approximately 7 miles away, with a UV-5R and a K5-Plus. Both radios were about 100 feet apart... no problem! I heard the transmission simultaneously on both radios. Lordy, it shouldn't be this difficult!
