  1. I am working on setting up a base station and ideally would like the unit to live in the basement. Can I simply use an RJ,45 splitter and run a remote handmic elsewhere in the house? I haven't found any examples of this anywhere, but don't see why it wouldn't work. Thank you! -Adam
  2. Update: It worked. I entered test mode and changed the unit to Mode 2. It now has the same range as the older units. Thanks for the speedy answers. I just didn't want to open the box and power the unit up if someone had already tried and did not have success. The new frequency range must just be listed that way for US sales... -Adam
  3. I already searched the forums and didn't find the answer I was looking for. I recently purchased an Anytone AT-878UVii and I noticed that the box now states the factory frequency range on the UHF side is from 420-450mhz. I know the earlier units with the same model number were listed on the box from 400-490mhz. Is this the same unit as they were before, and still capable of being opened up to transmit and receive "out of band"? I am thinking the packaging has simply been updated for US sales. Has anyone unlocked a recently manufactured unit with the 420-450mhz range listed on the box? Thank you in advance! -Adam
