I am about to embark in a 10,000 mile ovrland trip from Texas to Alaska and back. I am looking for frequencies (preferably simplex) that I can use in case of emergency to contact law enforcement or search and rescue.
Any ideas?
Thank you
I was scanning my btech uv82-hp and received signal on 462.600. I am going to drop this pursuit and start chasing something simple like bigfoot. Thanks everyone for their help.
I live in Plano Texas a suburb of Dallas. I looked in repeaterbook.com but could not find anything for 462.600. I searched GMRS repeaters and found volumes of information but cannot find anything about what tones to use. I feel like a lost dog in a snowstorm. Walking for hours and winding up in the same spot.
Thank you all for any help you can provide.
thank you all for the information. Let me re-phrase the question. Has anyone successfully communicated on 462.600? If so, what Tx freq, Rx freq, DCS, CTCSS, and offset was used. If I have them all correct, then I am outside of range. I just want to be sure I am set up correctly.
thank you
I am trying to communicate on repeater 462.600. I have a btech uv 82 hp. my transmit freq is set to 467.600. receive freq set to 462.600. CTS off DCS off offset 000.
