Hi thanks for reply. Thanks for the correction: yes FRS 3, 462.6125. But I'm listening with 12.5khz bandwidth and I just checked 462.625 (FRS18 )with no signal emanating from that frequency nor on the other side (462.6125 - 12.5kHz). Something seems to be cyclically transmitting the same sequence over about every 2.5 seconds on 462.6125 or nearby, not random voice.

Hi there, I'm new to the game. In learning about GMRS, I've been scanning channels, etc hoping to hear talk. One thing I picked up on is what appears to be CW Morse code: ' - - - . . . - - - . . ' either O - S - O - I or O - S - 8, I believe. It is on channel 3, 462.6125. It's not toned but rather static toned and possible that the tone is not heard because perhaps I'm picking up something pretty far away. I't been going on repeatedly for at least 2-3 weeks. Curious what you all think is causing this tone? I'm located on the Wisconsin - Minnesota border in Stillwater, MN. Thanks!

Thanks Jones, this is making more sense. The noisy tones are '- - - . . . - - - . . ', so at least there is what is an O and an S in there, but separation of audible tones might be muffled effecting my interpretation. On another note, SQL is maxed, and the tone is still coming through. WRAK968: I'll grab a recording after I find the time to drive further out from my home toward ROS NDB to see if the ROS theory holds true. I pinged a pilot in the family to learn a little more about that side of things.
Best,
S.
