  1. https://www.sws.bom.gov.au/Educational/1/3/6#:~:text=VHF and UHF Communications That gives a very basic answer. Remember the "sun lit" hemisphere is when it's daylight.
  2. I've looked and don't see much other than a couple of YouTube videos. You can try the tidradio bluetooth programmer. https://www.amazon.com/TIDRADIO-Wireless-Programmer-Programming-Multiple/dp/B098SM9FVL
  3. buytwowayradios.com has good products and the customer service is top notch.
  4. You can always try something like a Melowave Shadow antenna. They're pretty small and wouldn't be readily visible across the peak of the roof.
  5. I use a Wouxun kg-935g (ht) connected to an Ed Fong GMRS antenna and I can hit a repeater 43 miles away. Remember that UHF works better in the evening to morning hours. You might be able to get into the repeater during that time. Notarubicon is an awesome resource to learn from. He's hilarious as well. I'd recommend watching his YouTube videos.
  6. UHF frequencies work better during the evening/night/morning because of the sun ionizing the atmosphere.
  7. I don't even have mine linked to a phone and I can get just the coordinates (not a map) I can also get speed and altitude. You have to go in the menu and find gps status to get your coordinates.
  8. Forgive me if this has been asked before... Is there something like a HAMfest for GMRS?
