WSDV406 Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 Apologies to all for neglecting to update this thread after the last few Wednesday night nets. Allow me to do a little bit of a batch update here..... We're glad to have our club growing and having some new voices checking in on the weekly nets. As always, I personally value the QUALITY of connection over the QUANTITY of connection. That said, it's always nice to see an increase in numbers. On to the recap of the last several weeks of nets..... On New Year's Eve, 12/31/2025: Thanks to @WSKH224, @WSAY284, WSKT347, @WSFA364, @lux4227 (WRZN377), @WSDV406 (Me), & @SteveGibbs (WSBM443) for jumping into a New Year's Eve Net. This week's question was, "What is your most memorable NYE celebration?" Answers ranged from shooting off fireworks to Y2K shenanigans to a dream that Nashville got hit by a nuke . On 1/7/26: Thanks to WRKG234, @WSAY284, WSKT347, @WSFA364, @lux4227 (WRZN377), @WSDV406 (Me), @SteveGibbs (WSBM443), WRXS569, @WSKI606, & @WSGE773 for checking in. This week's question was, "Are you the New Year's Resolution type or do you let the chips fall where they may?" Answers slanted towards the chips fall where they may side of the coin flip, but lots of of folks also had alternate answers -- you'll have to listen to the nets to get all the juicy details. On 1/14/26: Thanks to @WSAY284, @WSFA364, @lux4227 (WRZN377), @WSBU400, @WSDV406 (Me), @Cshus14 (WSKW704), WSJU904, & @WSKW921 for checking in. This week's question was, "What is a small thing that makes your day instantly better?" Answers ranged from a cold beer or a shot of whiskey to spending time with family to -- quite simply put -- bacon. On 1/21/26: Thanks to @TheMeatTrapper (WRM250), @WSAY284, @WSFA364, @lux4227 (WRZN377), @WSBU400, @WSDV406 (Me), @WSIY431, @SteveGibbs (WSBM443), @DougTucker (WRFL449), @jamesehearn (WSKV697), & @WSGE773 for checking in. This week's question was "What are your top two must-haves when a snow event is forecasted?" LOTS of folks mentioned fuel for generators, various varieties of spirits and libations, chili, grilled cheese and soooo many more interesting prep items. On 1/28/26: Thanks to @WSAY284, @WSFA364, @lux4227 (WRZN377), @WSDV406 (Me), @WSIY431, @SteveGibbs (WSBM443), @jamesehearn (WSKV697), WSLE754, @WSGE773, & WSJU904 for checking in! This week's question was following winter storm Fern, and was, "Briefly share your 2026 ice storm story." Lots of folks reported that they never lost power. Some were still without power. Others hosted friends who were without power or had to bug out to a friend's house because they were without power. One station was in the area to Door Dash because of the need to do so. Thanks again to everyone that takes time out of their busy week to join these weekly nets. We do this not only to have some fun and get to know each other a bit, but also to know who is available to count on during times of emergency. Join us at 462.600 each Wednesday at 8pm. Whether you key up or just tune-in, we'd love to have ya. *Point your browser to (or share with a friend) SCTNGMRS.com or SouthCentralTNGMRS.com for easy access to the club page.....and make sure to click "follow" so you can stay up to date with new posts in our club forum.* jamesehearn 1
