Hi my name is Johnny I am fairly new here and I just made my first contact today but I am looking to join a local club in the El Sereno area that I can get access to a local repeater.

Hi Johnny, I am not sure if you are looking for a specific club... but the Mesa Crest Repeater Club has 5 repeaters that cover the Los Angels, Orange County, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Great club, fun helpful people and fun club activities too.
