I have an older GM-30, maybe 4 years old I keep in my car to scan/monitor local GMRS and HAM frequencies around town. The squelch function doesn't seem to do anything. It stops scanning on the slightest, weakest signals no matter what the setting. Especially on the annoying "ticking" you get sometimes. It will just hang up there and stop scanning until it stops.
I don't have this problem with my DB-25G in my Jeep. I know it's just a cheepo but curious if the squelch actually works on others GM-30's.
