I just got the gxt3000 and got on a repeater 25 miles away. I paired the mobiles with 6db gain antennae's which helps a lot. The 575 has to have a dedicated wire to the battery but the 275 can work with cig plug but I got the same connections that the 575 has and spliced to the power cord of the 275. I only buy Midland, don't speak no Chinese. One thing I have found out is that the 275 is more sensitive to interference. There is a digital signal at 462.537 that interferes with my reception at 462.550. I hit a repeater 50+ miles away and they can hear me great but I can't hear them on the 275 but can hear them on my handhelds? We are trying to find the source. It doesn't bother the 575 at all. Im easly hitting two of my favorite repeaters 60+ miles out with the 275. I am 100% satisfied with this radio. I had the 575 in my last jeep and honestly I don't see any difference in range between the two radios. . I'll be making in a trip up to the kern river canyon, around trees and hills in two weeks, I'm sure that where I'll find the difference between the two radios. The 275 is a keeper. I agree the 275 is a great radio, like I said I have two of them. Even the antennae that comes with it is surprisingly good but the 6db does give you a little more range. The only problem with it is that it sticks way up in the air. I am looking forward to seeing how the 3db ghost antennae performs. WRUE951 1 Quote
