I'm a member of the B.A.R.C. (like the sound a dog makes) Beargrease Amateur Radio Coalition. This coming Sunday, January 25th, I will be heading up the north shore of Lake Superior to volunteer at the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon.  Our club is a group of volunteers that play a vital role of safety and communications during the marathon.  Much of the area has little or no cell phone service.

I will be camping for 3 nights in the back of my Bronco Sport in subzero temps, whilst shooting video of the experience to post on our YouTube channel.  I hope to highlight not only the marathon and its traditions but also ham radio and the organization behind this event. Showing how this form of communication can be used for so much more than "rag chewing".

I invite you all to follow along with me on my adventures.  While I am very excited about this, I am also very concerned about my own safety in the elements of nature.  I am taking every step quite seriously.
