Repeaters and local net east Tn area?

I live in Kingston Tn area. Close to Knoxville on the west end (12 miles to watt rd). What are Local repeaters and what’s a good net? I’m only pushing 6 watts handheld. Thanks josh

Tri-Cities area here.  As far as repeaters, there are several options in the Knoxville area.  you can search for the closest ones on the repeater database.  As far as nets in our area, i am not aware of any.
